- Sound On/Off: The Sound On/Off icon will mute/unmute all open Howlers. Clicking this icon is the same as using the Mute All menu or the Mute All Sounds checkbox in Preferences
- Howler Name: This field allows you to name the Howler, to differentiate it from other Howlers when you have more than one open.
- Display: This read-only main display will show the time remaining on the timer, along with the time that has elapsed since the timer started. It also tells you when the timer is done, and reflects the status of chained or saved timers.
- Start/Stop/Restart: This button starts and stops the timer.
- More Options/Hide Options: Show/Hide the options drawer (seen below).
- When this Howler is done (Finishing Options): This drop-down menu selects the Howler's finishing behaviour. This will be discussed later in the Finishing Options section.
- Alarm/Countdown Sound: Each Howler may have individually selected alarm and countdown sounds. "Manage Sounds..." will bring you to the Preferences window, where you may add new sounds to the list.
- Keep Howling: When checked, the alarm sound will play in a loop when the time is up, and will not stop until you press Reset or close the window. This option is automatically disabled when a finishing option has been selected or if the sound is muted.
- Start in Full Screen mode: When checked, the Howler will automatically enter Full Screen mode when the timer starts counting down.
